AirAsia began direct flights between HCMC and Bangkok last year. The price will be around US25. not including $15 airport fees and fuel subcharges. For its third anniversary, Thai AirAsia will be running a special low-price promotion affecting 5,000 journeys.

Vietnam airlines and Thai Airways International, however, air tickets from Thai Airways will be a bit cheaper than those of Vietnam Airlines.

Bangkok Airways will also operate three-weekly flights on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays between Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City by its 120-seat Boeing 717-200. Flight leaves Bangkok at 16.30 PM with an arrival at 17.55 PM in Ho Chi Minh City. Flight leaves back from Ho Chi Minh City at 18.50 PM to arrive in Bangkok at 20.15 PM.

Travel time from HCMC to Bangkok may take around 1 hour and 25 minutes.
