How to get from Hanoi to Halong bay to Hoi An

So I land in Hanoi Saturday night. I am going on a tour on Sunday and then I was planning on going to Hanlong Bay for a night and then wanted to head to Hoi An.

My questions are this:

1. What is the fast way to get to Hoi An? Should I go back to Hanoi and take a flight or should I take an overnight train? I am not so much worried about the cost, but just want the fastest way.

2. What are the names of a few good tour operators in Halong Bay? I am traveling solo, but I would like something that is safe. I have had friends who have had trouble there with things getting stolen off the boat, etc.

ANSWER:

The fastest way will be booking a flight to Danang from Hanoi, then catching a taxi from Danang to Hoian - it may take around 40 minutes. there are a lot of travel agents in Hanoi can handle the this flight route.
