Vietnam Airlines
April 1, 2008
Vietnam Airlines has inaugurated four direct flights a week between Ho chi Minh City and Rach Gia, the south west coastal town on Phu Quoc Island. It takes 50 minutes to get there and cost VND500, 000 one way. The flight departs every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Pacific Airlines
PCA has increased its return flights between HCMC and Hanoi up to seven flights a day, and has also provided two more return flights between HCMC and Danang. However, the airline has closed its Danang – Hanoi route. Pacific Airline’s fares are 10-25 percent cheaper than those of the national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines.
Tips: Lost luggage on domestic flights
At the moment, airlines compensate passengers according to the weight, rather than value, of lost possessions. For each kilogram of lost luggage, the passenger receives VND 200,000 (about 12$ US). Passengers are advised to carry valuable items such as cell phones and laptops in their hand luggage.
